You can also turn any Kir'ko units into a xeno via a parasyte mod then they will have 3 lives too. all your Xeno units will effectively have 3 lives. :P and once you have a bunch of plaguelords that can revive eachother and the mod that let's them revive themselves. You have a pretty good chance of getting up to two pustules per battle then use the operation to evolve into devourers and repeat, and then get plaguelord tech. Barragers when you get them are also incredibly good if you build them as status inflict units. Their current strat is mainly engulfers, and hidden are also really good units. I send 4 heroes out loaded with Xeno infection rifles and just hunt Biological units on the map. Kirko also isnt necessarily a melee race. You don't really need to bother with Xeno units until you get the ability to evolve a pustule into a devourer via a strategic op, and get the doctrine that increases the spawning of Xeno units after battle by +30% per hero in army.
